Nougat - Turròn

The first establishment of Plà Ferràndiz was founded in Xixona (Jijona), the province of Alicante, in
1885. The confection of different specialities such as the Turron Alacant (hard nougat), the black
chocolate and milk almond tablets, began in the premises adjacent to the family home.
The Turron Alacant, a sweetheart made from roasted whole almonds, honey, sugar and egg white,
is one of the great specialties of the House and Catalan gastronomy, since the 17th century. It is made
according to a craftsmanship know-how that is passed on from generation to generation.
